When Should I Hire a Night Nurse?
Choosing whether or not to hire a Night Nurse, Newborn Care Specialist, Night Nanny or Postpartum Doula is such a huge decision!
If you’re wondering when you should hire a night nurse, I can only assume you’re leaning towards “yes!” on having postpartum support in your home. It’s very a very personal decision and people make this decisions at different times that makes sense for their families needs. Sometimes, this is as soon as the discover their family will be growing (think 6-8 months prior to birth) and sometimes we are receiving requests 2-3 weeks away from delivery or even after baby(ies) have arrived. There will generally always be SOMEONE available. While there may be a living, breathing human available to care for your baby - what you lose control of so close to delivering is scheduling, multitude of options and interviews as well as the potential for working within ideals. That being said, there will usually ALWAYS be SOMEONE available to support you. Preferred scheduling, start date, etc would be something that may be effected as well as looking for a perfect fit may be tough.
We support all families and welcome you to reach out and we’re happy to match you with an amazing Postpartum Support Provider on our team, whether you’re 8 months our from birth or you already have a snuggly baby in your arms!
